There are 31,536,000 seconds in a year exactly.

How to we get that?

We know there are 365 days in a calendar year. We know there 24 hours in a day. We also know there are 60 minutes in every hour.

Finally, we know there are 60 seconds in every minute.

Therefore;

1 minute = 60 seconds

60 minutes (1 hour) = $(60 \times 60)$ seconds

24 hours X 60 minutes = $(24 \times 60 \times 60)$ = 86400 seconds

365 days X 24 hours X 60 minutes = $(365 \times 24 \times 60 \times 60)$ = 31,536,000
