To insert a page break in Excel between rows, follow these steps:
-
Select the row where you want the page to break.
Click the row number below the row where you want the break. For example, to insert a break after row 10, select row 11. -
Go to the Page Layout tab.
In the Excel ribbon at the top, click Page Layout. -
Insert the page break.
In the Page Setup group, click Breaks, then select Insert Page Break. Excel will insert a horizontal page break above the selected row. -
Verify the page break.
Switch to Page Break Preview by going to View → Page Break Preview. The page break will appear as a solid blue line between the rows. You can drag this line to adjust the break if necessary. -
Remove a page break (optional).
To remove a page break, select the row immediately below the break, go to Page Layout → Breaks → Remove Page Break.
Note for Mac Users:
The steps are almost identical. The main difference is that the Page Layout tab may appear slightly different, but Breaks → Insert Page Break is in the same location.
This method ensures that when printing, each page starts exactly where you want it, which is essential for reports or data summaries.
