Open the Excel workbook where you want to add the header.
-
Go to the “Page Layout” tab on the ribbon.
-
Click on “Print Titles” in the Page Setup group.
-
In the Page Setup dialog box, switch to the Header/Footer tab.
-
Choose either a predefined header from the drop-down menu or click Custom Header to create your own.
-
Enter the text or elements you want in the header. You can add:
-
Text
-
Page numbers
-
Date or time
-
File name or sheet name
-
-
Click OK to save the header.
-
Preview your pages using File → Print → Print Preview to confirm that the header appears on every page.
Additional Tips:
-
Use the Left, Center, and Right sections in the Custom Header dialog to position content exactly where you want it.
-
You can insert images or logos in the header by selecting the image icon in the Custom Header dialog.
-
Adjust margins if the header overlaps with your worksheet data: go to Page Layout → Margins → Custom Margins → Header/Footer.
This method ensures that the header appears consistently across all printed pages of your Excel workbook.
